Along with his fellow brothers at the Xi Alpha Lambda Chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc., Christian participated in a program called "9/11 Service Project" held at the Covington-Harper Elementary School.
The approximately 200 4th and 5th grade children of CHES, as well as their instructors and administrators, were present for the event. Following the Pledge of Allegiance, a brief address was given about the significance of the Pledge and the value of being a good, humble American citizen. Brother Maurice Bland donated a $250 cheque to the school to be used for buying textbooks or other supplies, as decided by the administration of the school. The activity culminated with the brothers present going to each of the ten classrooms and spending roughly 20 minutes reading to the students.
